Charmeshia Allen is the founder of Daughters Journey to Freedom Ministries and holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration and Leadership with HACP and MNN-C certifications. For 20 years, she has served the Houston community as a nurse in global healthcare organizationS, organized health fairs, and provided much needed education and resources. Professional focus remains on addressing maternal mortality rates and identifying preventive measures.

In recognition of her hard work and dedication, Charmeshia has received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024, MLK Humanitarian Award, and more. She also serves as a minister at The Church Without Walls and participated in programs at George W. Truett. Additionally, she is an internationally acclaimed author of three books on emotional and spiritual health. In September 2023, the State of Texas honored her with the Community Service Award for reducing health disparities among people of color.
